For better understanding and to help you get started, we give you some general information and describe the basic procedures in csv4you. At the end of this guide you will find a brief summary of all explanations.

Introduction

Please keep in mind that the exchange of product data between the different systems (ERP, web shops, auction sites like eBay, marketplaces like Amazon, etc.) may partly be quite complex. We develop csv4you continuously for many years in order to meet all requirements in the field of import and export of product data. Expect however, no '1-click-solution'. There is no such thing in any ERP or shop system and certainly not on eBay or Amazon. That means: You should take some additional time after reading this manual and work with csv4you - to understand the system and use it correctly and efficiently.

Filling the DataPool

Prerequisite for working with csv4you is product data in the data pool. For this you can import product data via CSV file or save some records manually for testing purposes.

Assign all the products to "internal categories". These "internal Categories" are important to e.g. assign item attributes for eBay or Amazon. For importing into and daily updating of your data pool there are a sophisticated import tool with import templates for CSV or XML files , cron jobs and other useful functions.

Interface Setup

Via the 'Export Settings' in the interfaces section you make the desired settings for the output of an interface. There are many preconfigured interfaces that can be activated by a "Subscription" under "My Account". Furthermore can, depending on the requirements, interfaces be freely defined (Individual Interfaces). A subscribtion for an interface, with no product data in the DataPool, makes however virtually no sense.

To fully set up an interface, you should create a Category Mapping set (for the assignment of internal categories in the data pool to your shop categories), a suitable Product Template (a saved layout for product descriptions - if necessary, such as eBay or desired, i.e. Magento) and a Price Calculation (what shall the customer pay). These presets can be used in each interface when you export your product data and the corresponding settings will be applied.

A direct link to your export file (for csv and xml interfaces) can be found in the Export Settings for the particular interface on the bottom right in the info box. This window can be expanded and collapsed, and includes additional information on the respective interface.

There are no direct links available for API interfaces, because all data is exchanged directly between the systems.

What else is important

Imports / Exports can be planned and automated via cron jobs. More data sources and interfaces can be set up anytime; currently free.

Create Backups!
Regularly back up all data and settings via the menu item My Account -> Data Backup. Save your backups always additionally to your local computer!

Help and Support?

Help and support is available via the Wiki (wiki.csv4you.com), in our forum (innonetz.de) or through a support ticket. In the logged-in user section you will find additionally a green 'Help' button with the main explanations in the upper right area on many pages.

Telephone Support is generally not offered by us, or merely as 'entrance aid' within the scope of individual contracts. We will very gladly and promptly respond to all questions via the ticket area and in the forum. Thus any of our employees can help you in case of problems, since all the necessary information is available in writing and therefore traceable. As part of telephone conversations, that's just not possible. Possible problems unfortunately are not always simple, so that the written exchange of information is useful and necessary for both sides.
